Editorial policy

This policy describes how Orbisica selects, writes, and reviews its articles.

Sourcing

Every topic begins with a plan of authoritative sources. Preferred sources are official bodies, academic institutions, government and intergovernmental agencies, peer-reviewed research, and respected reference works. Low-quality sources are avoided.

Fact checking

Each factual claim carries the verbatim sentence from its source that supports it. A claim without supporting evidence is not published. Statistical and time-sensitive values carry the date they refer to.

Updates

Articles are versioned. When a fact changes, the article is revised and its last-updated date moves; the source set is refreshed and re-checked at the same time.
